Type Airworthiness Officer (Design)

Excel are pleased to be working with a leading employer within Aerospace and Military design and modification to offer an exciting new opportunity for a Type Airworthiness Officer with the design office of their UK site based in the south of the UK on a permanent basis

We are looking for a skilled and experienced individual to provide technical investigations, reviews and reports on the airworthiness of the of the aircraft and provide a lead on integrity management.  This will be play a focussed role in assessing the applicable regulations for initial and continuing airworthiness covering the type design standards and design data to ensure permit to fly and ongoing platform development.

Some of the key responsibilities can be detailed as:

• Initial design type investigation in support of CAA permit to fly
• SME of aircraft configuration and installed systems to support A8-21 DOC activities
• Support Part 21 DOA organisation with change and repair projects
• Aircraft specific investigation and reporting in support of CAA Permit to Fly
• Approval of Design Office documentation

The ideal candidate for this senior position within the DO will have expert knowledge of Airworthiness for military/civilian aircraft practices and have a proven background within a similar role within the aerospace industry.  A major requirement will be to have theoretical and practical application level understanding of CAA and MAA regulations including Part 21, DAOS, A8-21, A8-25/CAMO and Part 145 as this will be utilised on a daily basis with both internal and external stakeholders of the business.
